About Us
The Hitep Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course is a Rhode Island Department of The Health-approved course that prepares students for entry-level healthcare roles by combining 80 Hrs. classroom instruction with 40 Hrs. hands-on clinical practice. CNA is a healthcare professional who provides basic hands-on care to patients in hospitals, homes and long-term care facilities. They work directly under the supervision of Nurses to help patients manage their daily living.
CNAs are the backbone of patient care, performing duties such as:
Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Vital Signs: Monitoring and recording blood pressure, temperature, heart rate
Mobility: Helping patients move around, get in/out of bed, or repositioning them to prevent bedsores.
Feeding: Helping patients eat and ensuring they get proper hydration.
Observation: Monitoring changes in a patient’s physical or mental state and immediately reporting concerns to the nursing staff.
